Youth Services It is the mission of Youth Services to provide a climate of opportunity for youth related activities while also providing funding for unique community initiatives. 508-324-2419 The following programs are examples of such efforts: Peer Mediation, Conflict Resolution, Youth Council, After-School Activities, After-School Day Care, Khmer Resource Center and the North Park and Abbott Court Skateboard Parks. Youth Services also serves as a resource and referral guide for parents seeking after-school child-care opportunities. Program Descriptions: Youth Council-The Fall River Youth Council is an advisory board to the Mayor of Fall River, the Honorable Robert Correia. The Youth Council was established in 1996. The advisor to the Youth Council is Christian McCloskey, the Coordinator of Youth Services for the City of Fall River. The main goal of the Youth Council is to assist the Mayor in establishing a youth agenda for the City. The Youth Council is involved in many community and neighborhood activities. The Youth Council meets twice a month at Government Center to discuss issues and concerns that are important to the youth of Fall River. After-School Program-Programs are provided by the City of Fall River at Talbot, Kuss, Morton and Henry Lord Middle Schools. The After-School Activities Program offers Fall River youth in the middle grades, free and comprehensive activities that include both educational and recreational opportunities.
