Real Estate Tax


 Billing Cycle: Quarterly
 Due Dates: February 1st, May 1st, August 1st, and November 1st



  • Late Payments:  Interest will be charged at 14% per year on any payment not received by the Collector’s Office by the due date. Postmarks are not acceptable.  After fourth quarter (May 1st), any outstanding balance will be demanded.  Pursuant to Massachusetts General Law Chapter 60 Section 15, a demand fee of $10.00 will be added.
  • Continued failure to pay will result in the securing of a lien on the property known as a tax taking.  The final resolution would be civil suit and/or foreclosure.
  • To request a real estate abatement or exemption, please fill out an application or contact the Assessor’s Office at 508-324-2300. 
  • Applications for municipal lien certificates are processed through the Collector’s office. This certificate shows the amount of taxes and other assessments, including water rates and charges that are outstanding as of a certain date.
