File a Claim

A claim-form must be completed by anyone seeking damages from the City of Fall River in regards to:

  • Slips and falls due to street or sidewalk defects
  • Pothole damages
  • Automobile accidents involving a City vehicle
  • Property damage
  • Personal injury
Completed forms must be dropped off at the City Clerk’s Office on the 2nd floor at Government Center or mailed to:

Emailed claims will not be accepted.

Claims related to street or sidewalk defects must be submitted within 30 days of the incident for the claim to be valid.

Once the City Clerk’s office assigns the claim a number, the file is returned to the Law Department for review.  For questions regarding the status of your claim, please contact the Law Department at 508-324-2650 or send an e-mail to lawoffice@fallriverma.gov
